Two engines, the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre Dualjet four-cylinder petrol and the much more charismatic 1.0-litre Boosterjet three-cylinder do the heavy lifting and both can be mated to the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) system; this doesn't add anything in terms of torque or performance, but it does slightly reduce emissions and give a small boost to combined economy.

The ride is comfortable and there's little to report in terms of wind, engine or tyre noise when cruising. We wouldn't say the 1.0 is a blast to drive, or something that should be on anyone's bucket list, but as a truly cultured and attractive supermini, this mild-hybrid from Suzuki is a little gem that ranks among the best in its class.
