The Citadelle


The Citadelle of Port Louis dominating the top of the hill capital of Port Louis, the citadelle of the city dates from the sixteenth century. It is best known as Fort Adelaide in honor of the wife of King William IV of England. The British built the fortress in fear of a civil war French settlers always being on the island and also in order to protect the harbor against enemy attacks.


Today it houses the Museum of the East India Company from the city of Lorient and the National Maritime Museum. From its ramparts, one can see a wide panorama of the capital of Mauritius.

The Central Market (Port-Louis)


The Central Market of Port Louis, also called “Bazaar of Port Louis”, is one of the oldest sites of the island. It is older than two centuries. The current building, majestic with its huge columns and large pink walls. You will discover fruits and vegetables commonly consumed, medicinal plants, local crafts, spices. . The central market is surrounded by banks, a bus station, small shops and harbor; it is located near the north exit of the highway.

Pamplemousses Garden


The botanical garden created in 1735 by Francois Mahe de Labourdonnais. The botanical park had its real boom in 1768 when Pierre Poivre was named administrator. It now bears the name of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, former Prime Minister of Mauritius and father of independence.


The tour starts already by the crossing of the imposing and beautiful wrought iron in 1862. The main door opens onto the avenue de La Bourdonnais leading to the pool of water lilies whose flowers are three colors.


Spices, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and a host of fruit trees were lounging in this closed universe, disproportionate and fragrant exquisite floral essences. 600 beautiful plant species coexist in a once voluptuous and ecological harmony.When you walk in the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, you will have the opportunity to observe all kinds of birds in freedom but also reptiles, ponds and rivers and you will see beautiful butterflies flitting from and blue dragonflies. The garden also has an enclosure of giant tortoises of the Seychelles and you can perceive Java deer.

Cap Malheureux was named after the many ships that have literally hit the rocks near the north coast. Cap Malheureux is also where the invasion of the British landing forces in 1810 to attack the French. You will discover a magical place where beauty and serenity are one.

The clear waters of Mont Choisy in Mauritius invite you to an aquatic immersion of rare emotional intensity between swims, dives and outings at sea. Mont Choisy has the distinction of having the longest and most beautiful public beaches of the island. Many activities are available such as scuba diving, kayaking and parasailing.

Trou-aux-Biches has a fine white sand, clear blue sea and long filaos that therefore its beauty.
